The first quarter of 2019 saw a nice increase in the efficiency of workers. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported productivity jumped to a 3.6% annualized rate, beating expectations of 2.2%, and up from a downwardly revised 1.3% in the fourth quarter.
