The Labor Department reported that nonfarm payrolls (NFP) rose by 304k in January, much better than the consensus estimate of 165k. Despite a large revision to the December data, to 222k from a previously reported 312k, the labor market remains very heathy. This is the 100th consecutive month that jobs were added.
