The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) outperformed the broader market today, gaining 122 points (0.46%), and set a new record high. This marks the 14th new closing high for the DJIA in 2018. Despite the strength in the DJIA, the action in the other indices wasn’t as rosy; the S&P 500 (SPX), Nasdaq (CCMP) and Russell 2000 (RTY) all closed lower.  The RTY has been especially weak recently, closing down over 1% today, following a 1.39% loss yesterday. Since the end of August, the RTY has dropped 4.9%.
