The National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) released their small business optimism index this morning and it showed business confidence continued to cool last month. For the month of December, the index declined to 104.4 from 104.8 in November. Although the report did beat the consensus estimate of 103.0, this is the fourth consecutive month the index has declined.
