This week the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) index closed below its 200-day moving average for the first time since the market saw a surge in volatility in mid-January. This has raised the question, does the drop in volatility back below its 200-day moving average after spending an extended period above it suggest anything for the market over the near-term?
