Jobless claims jumped more than even the most pessimistic economist in Bloomberg’s survey expected. Last week, 6.648 million people filed for unemployment insurance on the heels of a revised 3.307 million the week before. The consensus forecast was 3.763 million. The highest forecast was 6.5 million.  Don’t forget that many were still unable to get into the data because the system was overloaded.
