Personal Income rose a tepid 0.1% in March, down from 0.2% in February and well below the 0.4% estimate. Despite the slower income growth, there was a surge in consumer spending. For March, Personal Spending, rose 0.9% from a revised 0.1%, in February. This was the largest monthly increase in spending since August 2009 (Figure 1).
