The four major indices all climbed to new intraday highs today but pulled back from those highs on reports that tariffs on Chinese goods will likely remain in place until after the U.S. Presidential election on November 3rd. The Dow Jones Industrial Avg. and Russell 2000 managed to close with fractional gains but the S&P 500 Index and Nasdaq Comp. both closed in the red.
