The Fed continues to raise rates in an effort to prevent an unwanted jump in inflation, especially given the historically low unemployment rate. Indeed, companies have been complaining about the difficulty in finding qualified workers, and Vermont is even offering $10,000 for people to move to the State and work remotely. It stands to reason, the best way to offset labor issues at the company level, whether it is finding enough workers or having to pay them too much, is capital investment that bolsters productivity.
