Focus for investors on Thursday will be on the FOMC Meeting Announcement, where they are expected to leave rates unchanged for November but many are looking to see if they will provide additional color on their stance going forward. In recent months, the Fed has maintained their tightening stance on monetary policy despite a volatile stock market, weakness in housing, and growing trade war fears.
- FOMC Meeting Decision – At 2:00 P.M. EST, the FOMC will announce their decision on the Federal Funds Rate. Current expectations are for them to leave the target rate unchanged and stay at 2.00-2.25% as the target rate.
- Initial Jobless Claims Release – At 8:30 A.M. EST, Initial Jobless Claims for the prior week are due out. Current expectation are for a release of 214,000, exactly the same as last week and still near record lows, where Initial Jobless Claims have remained for the past few months.
- Key Earnings Releases:
- Bombardier Inc (Ticker: BDRBF) – Consensus EPS: $0.02
- Cheniere Energy Inc (Ticker: LNG) – Consensus EPS: $0.21
