The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Survey was released this morning and the preliminary reading showed sentiment declined slightly in October to 99.0, below expectations of 100.5. This is down from September which was 100.1. The Current Conditions index fell to 114.4, from 115.2 in September. Despite the decline, consumer sentiment still remains very favorable.
